Steven T. Morrical, loving husband and father of three children and six grandchildren, passed away at the age of 63, on Wednesday (May 22, 2019), at his home in Clifton.
He was born July 8, 1955, in Kankakee, the son of Melvin and Ella (Hulse) Morrical. Steve farmed with his parents for a number of years in the Herscher and Irwin areas and was a master carpenter and home builder by trade. He worked in the Kankakee and Iroquois county areas his entire career, having retired from construction in 2011. Thereafter, he was a driver trainer for Maverick Transportation and, more recently, for Nussbaum Transportation.
On March 15, 1974, he married his high school sweetheart, Lisa Larsen Carlen, in Chebanse. They raised two daughters, Gina Morrical Eustace and Kelly Morrical Kohler (Darrin); and one son, Bradley Morrical (Amanda Cyrier).
Steve was a kind, gentle and patient man who loved spending time with his family, his dogs and working outdoors at his rural homestead. He possessed a quick wit, a keen sense of humor and always saw the good traits in everyone he encountered. Steve had a passion for the outdoors and photography. He was a member for many years and past president of the Kankakee Camera Club. He combined his two favorite hobbies into trips to the Great Smoky Mountains and the western states, where he took his special friends and fellow photographers. Steve also enjoyed golfing, camping, hiking and riding his Harley. He was deeply religious and had attended the United Church of Chebanse since childhood, where he held offices on the church board and was also a member of River Valley Christian Fellowship, Bourbonnais.
Surviving are his wife, Lisa, their three children and their spouses, and grandsons, Evgeny and Vladislav Eustace, Kory and Ryan Kohler and Benjamin and Joshua Morrical. Also surviving are one brother, Gerald, and sister-in-law, Trudy; three sisters, Ronda Martin, Joanne Birr Decker and Rita Larsen; one aunt, Lucille LaCost; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Judith; and one brother, Ronald.
Steve battled renal cancer the last year of his life and, per his wishes, was cremated.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8, until the noon celebration of life services at River Valley Christian Fellowship, 800 Cardinal Drive, Bourbonnais.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley.
